McKenna Records Presents
Barbara Healy & Groove Too
Barbara Healy has earned a reputation for writing her own material that demonstrates her sense of humor, passion for life, and maturity that comes with decades of experience – in music and in life.
Working with Barbara is her all star band, Groove Too, featuring The Treacherous Horns, Guitar work by Gerry Rempel, Keys: Gus Russell, Bass: Scoop McGuire and Michael Hatgis. Brian West held down the Drum spot until his untimely passing last year. Claudia Paige handled drum duties on the latest CD.
The first recording with Groove Too, ”Shades of Blues”, generated interest nationally and internationally, with some of the songs being considered for the tv/film industry.
“Been There Done That” is more of the same, playing on stations across the U.S., Canada and overseas.
A NEW CD, BARBARA HEALY LIVE WITH GROOVE TOO , WAS J RELEASED LAST YEAR. YOU CAN HEAR IT ON MANY BLUES STATIONS HERE AND ABROAD.
THANKS TO THE CORVALLIS FALL FESTIVAL FOR RECORDING THE LIVE PERFORMANCE !
"Been There Done That is a very pleasing collection of bluesy-soulful fun. There is a reason why Barbara Healy has stood tall within the Eugene and Oregon, blues scenes for four decades. When you have talent like this, material like the songs gathered here, plus an assembly of fantastic musicians, you have the formula for not only longevity, but for first-class releases as seen here.
